Known locally in the jungle as the 'Tree of Youth', Capirona is native to several countries in the Amazon Rainforest. The tree is beyond unique with a defining biannual habit of shedding its outer bark layer to rid itself of lichens, fungi, epiphytes, and lianas. This process is similar to how we humans shed our skin every two to four weeks for similar reasons. The Capirona tree is deeply embedded into plant medicine culture across the Amazon Rainforest. By preparing the bark in certain methods, a multitude of health claims have been made from anti-aging to wound healing. From what we have witnessed and our clients experiences this truly is the 'Tree of Youth'.

Selected as a proven source of healing for local Amazon communities, the resin of Pichirina has been used for thousands of years in remedies for dry skin, psoriasis, and wound treatment. Pichirina is a small tree native to lowland and mountain rainforests across the Amazon Rainforest. Along with the biological testing results demonstrated, our founders can also attest to the healing powers of this tree having applied the resin in the field on our first encounter with the species.

This butter is made from the seeds of a fruit called kokum. Although similar to Shea and Cocoa, Kokum Butter is widely considered more beneficial. It is packed with essential fatty acids that are said to help slow down aging. The rich nourishing properties of Kokum Butter moisturize, soften, and protect dry skin, hair, and lips.

Lactobacillus is a probiotic ferment that when used in skincare products helps sooth, balance, and comfort skin to provide relief to irritated sensitive dry skin. 

Largely known for its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties Grapeseed contains high amounts of omega fatty acids and vitamin E. Grapeseed oil's real strength lies in its especially powerful antioxidants. Studies found that these powerful antioxidants can help reduce signs of aging, balancing sun spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.  Antioxidants can help protect skin from free radicals and adverse effects of the sun resulting in signs of premature aging.

Bakuchiol is the premier plant-based natural alternative to the potentially irritating effects of Retinol. Derived from the leaves and seeds of the Babchi plant and trusted in Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese traditional medicine, Bakuchiol is used for its balancing and regenerative properties. Safe for all skin types and has been known to help make skin less sensitive to sunlight.

Acacia senegal gum is an herb used in various capacities to enhance the smooth feel or adhesion of a skin care formula. This gum is prepared from the dried, sap of the acacia tree it also functions as a thickening agent, emulsifier, or stabilizer. Research shows it can deliver skin-soothing properties.

Carrot Stem Cells help to visibly moisturize and protect from the sun's harmful UV rays. Beta carotene, vitamins, and minerals support your skin to reduce inflammation and signs of premature aging while keeping skin acne free.

The active ingredients used in oatmeal products bring moisture to the surface layers of your skin while soothing and and relieving itchiness.  They are the perfect solution for many skin conditions and help to ensure a balanced microbiome – the ecosystem of bacteria that keeps your skin healthy and glowing.

Sorbitan Olivate is made from fatty acids in Olive Oil that are combined with sorbitol. Sorbitol occurs naturally in a variety of berries and fruits.  We choose to use the plant derived version of Sorbitan Olivate as is great for your skin. 

Coconut fruit extract, derived from the fruit of the coconut tree, can help to strengthen your skins barrier allowing skin to stay hydrated. Coconut fruit extract is made by soaking the fruit in water, glycerin or safflower oil to draw out the extract. 

Arrowroot powder comes from the Maranta arundinacea plant and has been used in South America for thousands of years. The root is a cylinder that is covered with scales. It has a smooth, silky feel, so it's often used as a body powder on its own without adding other ingredients. The powder has been well know to absorb oil and help dry out blemishes.
